Prestwood Methodist Church is served by two full-time Ministers, several Lay Preachers, Church Stewards and other supporting roles. As part of the Amersham Circuit, the Ministers and Lay Preachers work across the six churches of the Circuit.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Revd James Patterson<\/strong> is the Minister with responsibility for Prestwood Methodist Church.<\/p>

James hails from Guisborough in North Yorkshire. He studied car design at Northumbria University before becoming a self-employed graphic designer for ten years.<\/p>

He answered the call to ordained ministry in 2018, entering ministerial training in 2019 at the Queen\u2019s Foundation in Birmingham. It was there he met his wife Angela, who is a Church of England priest.<\/p>

James was ordained as a Presbyter in June 2024 at a ceremony in Bradford Cathedral.<\/p>

James is passionate about sharing the love of God in the world, and encouraging people in their relationships to God in Christ Jesus, enabling a reawakening of their passion for God.<\/p>

James enjoys walking, baking (mainly because of his sweet tooth), and loves cars, especially classic cars and in particular, Ford Anglias!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Revd Adam Wells<\/strong> is the Superintendent Minister for the Amersham Circuit.<\/p>

Adam was born in Kenya, where his parents were teachers. When he was four his family returned to the UK.<\/p>

He received his call to Ministry while reading Religious Studies at Lancaster University, where he also met his wife Ann. Adam was accredited as a Local Preacher in 1986 in the London North East District. From 1987 Adam spent three years at Wesley House in Cambridge training to be a Methodist Minister.<\/p>

Adam has served in the following Circuits; Barrhead near Glasgow, Durham & Deerness Valley, Loughborough and Borders Mission in the Notts and Derby District before arriving in the Amersham Circuit in 2019.<\/p>

Adam is passionate about encouraging people to grow in their own relationship with Christ and develop a spirituality that sustains them. Adam is a Tertiary of the Order of the Holy Paraclete, an Anglican religious order based in Whitby.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Bridget Appleby<\/strong> is the church’s Safeguarding Officer. She also produces the weekly church notices, and the quarterly magazine “The Open Door”<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
