Ministerial Team

The Amersham Circuit has two full time ministers and one Supernumerary Minister, working together with lay workers and a community worker (in Chesham).

The Circuit is also served by many Local Preachers and Worship Leaders, and a number of volunteers in both organisation and adminstrative roles.

Revd Nigel Wright

Revd Nigel Wright is the Minister with responsibility for Prestwood Methodist Church.

Nigel initially studied law at Downing College, Cambridge.  He felt called to the ministry during his time at university and was accredited as a local preacher in March 1992.  However he withdrew from candidating for the ministry because of pressure of work, and started work as a Lay Worker in the Methodist Church with pastoral charge of three churches in Somerset.

Nigel subsequently trained for the Ministry at Wesley College, and has served as minister at Knaphill, Woking, Epsom and Leighton Buzzard before moving to Amersham.

In his previous postings he has been heavily involved in running courses such as Alpha, Disciple and Compass, which have helped individuals in their faith.
